We’re very excited to announce that DePaul will be participating in the IGDA’s Global Game Jam. A Game Jam is an event which brings together artists, programmers and designers to spend a weekend working together in intense game development and design. Why? To work with people you might not otherwise meet, to show off your skills and creativity and to get respect for making great and innovative games under extreme time constraints!
DePaul CDM hosted its first Game Jam in April 2008. For ’09 however, we’re participating in a global event. The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the first of its kind: a Game Jam that takes place in the same 48 hours all over the world! Currently, there are over 45 locations all over the world including DePaul in Chicago.
The global Game Jam will start at 5:00pm on Friday, January 30, 2009 and continue until 5:00pm Sunday, February 1, 2009.
Visit the DePaul Game Jam ‘09 Site for more details on how to register.
